How long will the Microsoft Gold/Silver Partnership still exist?
Since September 30, 2022, it is no longer possible to conclude a new Microsoft Gold/Silver Partnership, but if you already have an active Gold/Silver Partnership with Microsoft, you can extend it until January 21, 2025 - provided your current partnership expires before this date - and thus use it for another year.
Should I switch to the new partnership?
Whether it is more sensible to switch directly to the new partnership or to extend the old partnership depends on the individual case. In principle, of course, you will sooner or later have to switch to the new partnership, as extensions will no longer be possible after January 21, 2025.
Microsoft recommends all partners with silver benefits to switch to the Partner Success Expanded Benefits Package. With this package, you will have additional access to Microsoft Copilot products, Microsoft GitHub, Defender for Endpoint, and over 20 additional product benefits starting January 22, 2025.
Microsoft advises partners with gold benefits to become MS Solutions Partners. As a Solutions Partner, you will receive a tailored benefits package for your solution area, a Solution Partner badge, which you can use in your branding, and additional resources to increase your success.
Comment
In general, it makes sense to start the qualification process early, as the process can take 2-4 months according to our experience. If your current Silver/Gold Partnership is therefore expiring in the near future, we would recommend extending it first and then starting the accreditation process for the Solution Partnership for the following year.
If you would like more specific advice on this matter, we would be happy to assist you.
